Matching your interior paint to your city's color palette

I did this subconsciously for two years, and then while in process of trying to figure out a color for our second bedroom, swatched every other color in the apartment onto one wall and realized... they were the colors of the buildings in our neighborhood.

Now getting ready to paint a new, third bedroom and after multiple rounds ended up with... an accidental exact match for the beautifully peeling building next to ours.

I think this could work in any city. Here for a specific quality of light and cohesive color palette coming together to create a strong sense of place!
